What's New?
Currently.... SBC has hit over 500 members! This is great news for us, and hopefully we'll be getting to 600 members soon. Also, a brand new contest is going on. The first 5 users to find a golden ticket hidden somewhere on the forum, will get early access to v7! Congratulations to SOF who was the first person to find the ticket. Remember - use your heads! There are only 3 spots left. See the "Lost Temple" announcement on the homepage for more. Speaking of contests, don't forget to participate in our other contest to put a funny, original caption on an image. The winner will receive 1000 doubloons.
In the future... SBC will be moving to vBulletin on August 26th, 2011. This will also be the launch of v7. We had a good time on forumotion, but it is time for us to move. Stay tuned for more!Richest Users

39. "Gold team rules!"
Pre-Hibernation Week - 21 points
(1 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: #5, Steel Sponge)
Hibernation is coming up, and Sandy wants to be ready. She has to do all her chores around the treedome and get her extreme sports in! SpongeBob volunteers to participate in these sports with her, which makes Sandy overjoyed. Pretty soon though, it becomes obvious that these games were not meant for SpongeBob. Such games include fly-fishing (in an airplane), extreme jacks, and the classic "Find the Hay in the Needlestack"! After awhile, SpongeBob finally decides he has had enough, and takes refuge under Patrick's rock. When Sandy can't find him, she starts to panic. She groups the majority of Bikini Bottom together to help find SpongeBob (splitting them into Alpha Team and Gold Team, the latter of which rules). After days of searching without breaks, the townspeople grow restless, finally resorting to hiding under Patrick's rock with SpongeBob. Sandy frantically continues the search by herself.
Meanwhile, the townspeople discover that SpongeBob is under the rock with them, and they sell him out. SpongeBob finally confesses to Sandy that he can't play these games with her anymore, but Sandy falls asleep before she hears this. Hibernation has started! SpongeBob falls asleep as well. Meanwhile, Patrick comes up to his rock, and is shocked to see multiple people hiding under it.

38. "No more sufferin', no more sighin', no more pain and no more cryin'..."
Wishing You Well - 21 points
(1 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: #5, Wumbology)
It all starts when Mr. Krabs finds out that people will throw good money down a well to make a wish, which gives him an idea to build a well near the Krusty Krab (with Squidward and SpongeBob's help of course). After the well is done, he appoints SpongeBob to go down in the well and collect the money at the end of the day. A few townsfolk come and throw their coins down the well, making wishes, but Patrick is the only one to get his wish that "SpongeBob were here to see this" (because he fell down the well with the coin). After playing a game of tag, Mr. Krabs comes at the end of the day to report that sadly, no one else had a wish that came true other than Patrick, which inspires SpongeBob to dig deeper for the magic, and he finds it!
Just then, Squidward comes along, laughing that SpongeBob and Patrick are in the well. But then he falls in as well, much to the delight of SpongeBob and Patrick. After a night of pure agony for Squidward, he finally gets lifted up in the well's bucket, and gets hit by a bus that's going "far far away from here", as he wished. Meanwhile, SpongeBob tells Mr. Krabs that they "found the magic", which Mr. Krabs doesn't believe. However, Sandy's new telescope, Mrs. Puff's new ride, and Plankton's new height beg to differ. Just to prove that there is no magic, however, Mr. Krabs wishes that he was steamed and served with a side of melted butter, and then tosses in a coin. Sadly, his wish comes true, causing him to believe in magic.

37. "Get off the stage!"
Shell of a Man - 22 points
(1 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: #4, 4EverGreen)
SpongeBob is making Krabby Patties when Mr. Krabs grabs him and shows him to his "hidey-hole", the place where he keeps all his personal belongings. One of them is a picture of his old days in the Navy, where he was Armor Abs Krabs! His Navy reunion is tonight, as he tells SpongeBob. SpongeBob demonstrates his armor abs by punching him in the gut, causing his entire arm to disintegrate. He then goes back to make Krabby Patties.
Suddenly, a sound of distress comes from Mr. Krabs' office! SpongeBob rushes to the scene, and it turns out Mr. Krabs has molted! Now he says that he can't go to the reunion. SpongeBob tries to reason with him, but Mr. Krabs instead comes up with the solution of having SpongeBob pose as him, dressed in his shell.
At the reunion, Mr. Krabs is at first embarrassed by SpongeBob's behaviour. But he manages to pull the ruse off, and ends up winning an award for being the manliest of the bunch! Unfortunately, he can't come up with a better speech than a story about him jellyfishing and blowing bubbles. He promptly leaves the stage, but Mr. Krabs' navy buddies insist that he can't leave without giving Torpedo Belly one of his famous steely philly butts. Unfortunately, the pressure of Torpedfo Belly braks Mr. Krabs' shell, leaving a vulnerable sponge inside. Before the Navy can beat on SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs comes clean. Surprisingly, it turns out that most of his navy buddies were not what they seemed to be anymore! Mr. Krabs is satified, knowing that at least his shell would grow back.
(Side note: I know 4EverGreen's had some questionable choices for episodes, but I am genuinely happy this one made the list. It's such a grossly underrated episode, and it almost made my list. Almost.)

I am noticing a common theme here for 4EverGreen's top episodes on his list. They all involve characters getting naked. I guess that means All That Glitters is coming up somewhere down the line....

What's with all the 4EverGreen episodes? :S
So far so...ok. Shell of a Man is not bad, but not top 40 worthy, IMO.

36. "Jingle Bells, Mermaid Man smells, Barnacle Boy laid an egg! The Invisible Boatmobile lost a wheel..."
Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II - 22 points
(2 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: #8, 4EverGreen)
It all starts when SpongeBob wins the Conch Signal as a prize for his life-size Krabby Patty mannequins of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. He decides to test it out, only to discover it's the real deal when Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy come rushing to the scene. He gets a lecture from both of them on when to use the Conch Signal, but he doesn't heed their words very well as he calls them over to open a jar of pickles, read him a bedtime story, and other various mundane things. Barnacle Boy finally has enough and takes it from him. But when spongeBob starts to cry, Mermaid Man takes pity on him and lets him ride with them in their Invisible Boatmobile.
On their way, they meet up with the Atomic Flounder, who gives a burning reminder of what he can do to Barnacle Boy when SpongeBob aggravates him. At the diner, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy both agree that they need to ditch the sponge. So they send him over to the jukebox to find their theme song. While SpongeBob looks, they escape.
Yes, they do escape, but into the path of the Dirty Bubble! Meanwhile, SpongeBob finds their theme song (and it's the special dance mix!) and walks out of the diner to look for them. He finds them trapped inside the Dirty Bubble! SpongeBob wants the Dirty Bubble's autograph, so he grabs a pencil and unwittingly pops the Dirty Bubble, freeing Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy! They then dub SpongeBob a hero, and the three ride off in the Invisible Boatmobile.

^ Yup.
I think it's one of the first SB eppies I ever saw. it's not bad, but there are better MM&BB episodes.

Re: The SBC Top 50 episodes list
Now it's Steel Sponge's turn to be in the spotlight.
35. "Ha! I am not falling for that malarkey!"
Skill Crane - 23 points
(1 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: #3, Steel Sponge)
Mr. Krabs installs a "skill crane" machine in the Krusty Krab, and gives SpongeBob and Squidward each a quarter to try it out. Squidward is reluctant, but tries anyway and does not win. SpongeBob, however, gets it on the first try, which Squidward equates to "beginner's luck". Squidward tries again and again, but stops momentarily when he thinks of Mr. Krabs' words that the machine "will pay for itself". He soon gets back into the habit, though, and while SpongeBob wins toys every time he tries, Squidward never wins anything, and ends up giving Mr. Krabs the deed to his house as payment!
Going crazy from never winning a toy, Squidward turns to SpongeBob, who shows him the way of the skill crane. Squidward follows his advice, and wins a stuffed bear! He is overjoyed, but everyone (even SpongeBob) soon tires of hearing about his victory. When he tries SpongeBob's technique with a real crane, that's when things get out of hand. Squidward destroys a building and ends up in the middle of a group of very angry construction workers. SpongeBob tries to save him, but as it turns out, he can only pick up toys.

34. "Sorry to disturb you during work hours. I just wanted to remind you about my birthday."
Overbooked - 24 points
(1 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: #2, 4EverGreen)
SpongeBob has made three commitments that he must fullfill at the same time: being the test subject for Sandy's invention, helping Mr. Krasbs put together a telescope, and bringing a birthday cake to Patrick's birthday party! He tries to go to all three at the same time, but it doesn't really work out. He finally confesses to what he's been doing, and they all seem to understand. Fortuinately, Sandy's new invention can create clones of people, so SpongeBob can be in three places at once!

ok, 4Evergreen, we need to talk >.<
I'm usually glad to see people liking the newer episodes, but when it comes to ranking the best of the best, there are very few episodes, IMO, that deserve to make it. And we're on the 30's here :S
I know it's not your fault, Wumbo (no shooting no messenger ;P) but,IDK, guess my point is that some people should consider the general opinion sometimes *shrugs*

Re: The SBC Top 50 episodes list
See, here's the deal with 4EverGreen: Any episode where somebody gets naked is an automatic A+.JellyFishJammer wrote:ok, 4Evergreen, we need to talk >.<
Anyway, this one marks the end of a terrifying era:
33. "All that glitters is not gold."
All That Glitters - 25 points
(1 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: 1 #1 vote, 4EverGreen)
SpongeBob cries for 11 minutes. Oh yeah, he gets naked too.

Don't shoot me but I don't mind that episode, some parts are actually funny. It does not deserve to be on the list but I don't really understand the hate for it besides the crying it was pretty good

Re: The SBC Top 50 episodes list
What a perfect word for word description of this episode. I seriously don't get 4EverGreen's fascination with naked cartoon characters, but why couldn't it have been a better episode he voted number 1Wumbology wrote:SpongeBob cries for 11 minutes. Oh yeah, he gets naked too.

Re: The SBC Top 50 episodes list
NOTE: This episode should be more near the bottom of the list, but I kind of messed up. I don't know how I gave this episode 26 points instead of 17, but it should be near the bottom. I apologize for the inconvenience.
32. "I'm touching the thermostat! I'm touching the thermostat!"
Krabs a la Mode - 26 points
(2 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: #17, The Cartoon)
Mr. Krabs is very touchy about people... well, touching his thermostat, despite cold temperatures in the Krusty Krab. Plankton decides to take this obsession and put it to his advantage by secretly lowering the thermostat, and pasting a note over it that says the temperature Mr. Krabs had it at. Despite claerly frozen conditions in the Krusty Krab the next day, Mr. Krabs STILL refuses to raise the thermostat. Instead, he uses the icy floors to his advantage: He turns it into a skating rink! Furious, Plankton tries to steal the Krabby Patty formula during these conditions, but is thwarted by a skating SpongeBob and a horde of hockey players. He then decides to raise the thermostat so that all the ice melts.
Mr. Krabs catches Plankton touching his thermostat and they have a battle over control of it. In the end, Plankton ends up in an ice cube in Mr. Krabs' drink, and business is better than ever for the Krusty Krab.

Sigh......I really don't see why everyone loves this episode but me =/
I mean its become a bit more tolerable over the years, but I'm just not fond of it. Oh well, this is everyone's list, not my own

I think That70'sGuy had a perfect insight on this episode in an old thread: "It is overrated by the people that like it but underrated by the people that hate it"

Re: The SBC Top 50 episodes list
Hehe, well, "2 of 8 lists" and yeah, I was the other one xP
IDK, I just like it a lot! Love how it refers to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in some way, and I do like the songs, but either way, I get why many people aren't too fond of it.
And David Bowie voicing! That alone should be enough to love this! =P

Re: The SBC Top 50 episodes list
Okay Ziggy Stardust, here's the next one:
30. "The Mitten!"
Roller Cowards - 28 points
(2 of 8 lists. Highest Ranking: #11, Steel Sponge)
SpongeBob and Patrick see an advertisement for a new roller coaster at Glove World: The Fiery Fist O' Pain! They both vow to go to Glove World the next day and ride it, but secretly, both of them are scared to ride it.
When they get to Glove World, they stall for time before they go on the roller coaster: They eat ice cream, ride The Mitten, and Patrick poses for a picture with Glove World's mascot! Finally, the time comes for them to ride the ride, and they are the last ones to do so for the day. Both of them are terrified out of their wits, but luckily for them, the ride breaks down before they can go! SpongeBpob and Patrick then admit to each other how scared they were, but the ride gets fixed, and off they go! After losing their spines, SpongeBob and Patrick have both conquered their fear.
