The Kinect: Does it live up to its hype?

After seeing a lot of commercials for the Xbox 360's Kinect, I'm just wondering: is it as good as it's advertised? I don't own a Xbox 360, so, to me, it looks like a new PlayStation Eye.

(I'm a Nintendo freak, by the way. lol.)

I tried it. Its...Kinda bad. Playstation Move is worse.

It's just like this...it started with the WiiMote, but now that's old and "PS Move" and "Kinect" are the new things when they are obviously just different versions of the WiiMote.

If it wasn't for Nintendo none of this would even be around.

It doesn't even seem that cool. When my friend told me about it he made it seem like it was going to change the world forever, and I was interested. But I've seen adverts and...eh. Letdown.

The sad part is that this is just a rip-off of the EyeToy, which Sony made several years ago for PlayStation 2.

And yet everyone in my school couldn't wait until Kinect came out.

Oh yah, I forgot about the EyeToy. I need to find my EyeToy camera, the original EyeToy game was amazing. I also have a SpongeBob and Sega EyeToy.

What I don't get is why does the PlayStation need a camera for Move? Nintendo can do it with only a remote and a sensor bar, and the sensor bar does nothing but produce infrared lights. With the camera, there would probably be a little bit of lag with both the camera data and the "wand" data coming in at once.

uDraw is a drawing tablet, like Wacom, for the Wii. I already have a Wacom, so I probably wouldn't buy one.

I wish people would stop calling this a Wii-Ripoff. It's based off the EyeToy >.>

I got this for my Birthday two days ago. It is really fun! But sadly, most of the games on it suck ass. It came with Kinect Adventures which is basically a bunch of cheap games that feel like demos.

But I did get a game called Kinect Sports which is a blast! But the only other actually fun/good game on Kinect as of now is Dance Central.

KINECTIMALS IS THE ONLY GOOD GAME FOR KINECT.

If Microsoft had done this right, this could have been really awesome. They could have sold fake machine guns and make it feel like you're in an actual war with things like MW2. Or they could make fake Pokeballs and you could walk around like you're an actual Pokemon trainer. But this is all far off, considering I doubt they'd do this. Pokemon is also Nintendo exclusive as well. =/

I actually kinda like it. =/ I'm sure it'll get old eventually, but right now I find it very cool.

This. The Wii may be aimed for a more casual audience, but its definitely not a gimmick. There are a hell of a lot of great Wii games out there, while I haven't seen any praised Kinect games so far.

Speaking of which, I haven't gotten a Kinect yet, but I'm gonna hold out a bit longer before I decide if its worth it.

Oh and one more thing. I wish they kept the name Project Natal. That would have been much more badass. So would have been the titles. Natal Sports, Natal Adventures, etc.
