Beignets in the Crescent City!

One of my favorite foods...beignets. Square doughnuts deep fried & covered in powdered sugar. Here is a pic of a few plates of them:
These are only served at Cafe Du Monde, which is located in the French Quarter in New Orleans, right next to the levee. It has a green awning right in front of it that reads Cafe Du Monde. Some other resturaunts, such as the Berry Patch Cafe in Hammond, serve mini beignets.

Believe me, they're better. I've had funnel cakes and beignets, I like beignets more. And they're a French food! You can tell since the word beignet is the French word for little doughnut. As if the dough doesn't taste good enough, the powder makes them too delectable to eat just once! They're impossible to eat without getting powdered sugar on your face

Damn, that looks delicious...but I avoid all kind of fatty foods like that. I have like one single donut a year
