Scream series

Want to see the new one so bad!

Plot: Sidney Prescott returns to her home town, Woodsboro, on the anniversary of the initial murders. Things then start back up again, and Sidney finds herself running from Ghostface yet again.

Anyone else hyped?

Nope. This is actually the only thread regarding the Scream series whatsoever.

Changed thread a bit to discuss the series as a whole.

Well I have only seen the first one (saw it last night for the first time). Pretty good movie, I am tempted by Scream 4, but I am not sure if I should watch 2 and 3 before I see 4.

Expect the first three movies to be at my house for watching this Wednesday. Will try to wait, but by then I will have probably seen the fourth.

Saw Scream 4 today. It WAS AWESOME.

Ranking the movies best to worst:

Scream
Scream 2
Scream 4
Scream 3

I loved the original Scream. I can seriously do without the sequels. Especially the third and fourth one, which is a damn shame because I had high hopes for the fourth, but it fell way below meet my expectations.

Really? I actually love all of them, but Scream 3 is the only one I dislike at all. Maybe it's because I had low expectations for Scream 4, but it totally stunned me.

As a movie buff, I am seriously surprised by this news. Scream 4 didn't make as much money as the Weinsteins wanted. The first two Screams grossed over 100 million while the third grossed 90 million. The fourth is currently at 37 million with only another million or two left in it before it finishes its theatrical run. That's close to a 60 percent drop in terms of profitability o_o. Usually in the movie industry, that spells gloom and doom for a series. Plus, I heard audience reaction was mixed (obviously not on this site xP).

Even though I still haven't seen Scream 4, I do remember reading that the creators had another trilogy written up. I guess they will just follow through with it and hope positive word of mouth breaks out about Scream 4. Congratulations to you and tvman for another movie in the series and hey I might be on the bandwagon too if I ever watch it, but financially this move is a headscratcher.

It's really because it's getting great international sales, and still has yet to open up in a few big markets for foreign countries. They expect it to break 100 mil.
