SBC Weekly Episode Club

Basically each week people nominate an episode for everyone who wants to participate to watch on the Sunday of that week. And then we discuss and nominate the next episode we will watch on the next Sunday. Its basically like a book club but with Spongebob episodes.

So if anyone wants to take part just post here and I'll make a list of people who want to right a review for the episodes each Sunday (I't can change to Saturday if wanted)

Ok, I am going to write it now since I doubt I'll be here much today. Let's Review Rock-a-Bye Bivalve :

Rock-a-Bye Bivalve: Ah yes, this episode. One of the most controversial episodes ever in Spongebob History. Despite all the Controversy it has gained, I kinda liked it. Jr. Was a nice character. Alas, since Spongebob has no continuity, I doubt we will ever see him again. To be honest, I didn't care much about Spongebob and Pat pretending to be a couple, but for those of you who don't know, that was what caused the controversy over it (And was apperently banned in Austrailia). It had some humor in it, that probably didn't make many people laugh, but it did for some people like me. Now, I didn't have many problems with it either. No, I didn't care about the couple thing at all. Truthfully, it isn't that bad of an episode, despite all of the controversy about it. My favorite part was the Let's Have Another Line at the end.

Overall Grade: A

Rock-a-Bye Bivalve:

Rock-a-Bye Bivalve is a sure classic, The reason I love it so much is that it has so much adult humor which I always love in old Spongebob and miss in the new episodes. If I just based the episode on the plot it woundn't score very highly but the jokes (Mainly from Patrick) make this episode a standout of my favourite season. Spongebob and Patrick being a couple didn't bother me but I can see why it would bother over protective parents. So that's about it I think this is a great, underrated episode that deserves more praise.

Score: A, 4.5/5, 9.5/10, Magnificent

Rock-a-Bye Bivalve

Well, it's definitely another great one from Season 3, with a substantial amount of jokes and an interesting storyline to boot. I can kind of see why it would be so controversial, but I think society is too sensitive. Like, honestly now. It's not like SpongeBob and Patrick... did it and out popped a baby. They were just taking care of it. Sheesh.

Anyway, I have one problem with this episode, and that's Patrick being a jerk. It happens every now and then in the series, so I'm not too offended by it. But I still can't give this episode a perfect grade, because of this issue. Anyway, at least the episode was funny enough, and the controversy just makes me like it more.

Grade: 79% (B+).

Rock-a-Bye Bivalve:

Hmm... what to say about probably the most controversial episode in the history of Spongebob Squarepants....It's great!!! This episode has one of the oddest plots i've ever seen but Stephen Hillenburg knew how to make great episodes out of weird plots or situations. I like the part when Patrick was gonna crush the baby scallop and when the baby scallop ate that worm. The part with the show abut people getting hit in the head with a coconut was funny and Spongebob's reaction to Patrick calling that "Work" was funny as well, but the best thing about this episode was the ending when Patrick said, "Let's have another". The part with the other couple trying to think of how it's possible for a sponge and a starfish to have a baby scallop was probably societies reaction to this episode cause they always believe that stuff like this makes the 2 characters gay (which it doesn't it's just a cartoon it won't turn your kid gay). Even though this is a really good episode, i'm gonna have to mark it down a few points cause after this episode people started saying that Spongebob and Patrick (two of my favorite cartoon characters) were gay, which kinda ruins the episode for me but other than that this truly is a great episode. 8.8/10 B+

Well sadly, this is my least favourite Season 3 episode, but it's still not THAT bad and it didnt make my ''Top 10 least favorite episodes'' list, what bugs me about thie episode is just about Spongebob & Patrick being a couple and all, everything besides that, it had alot of great moments, Patrick's ''Job'' wathcing Tv, Jr's diapers, Spongebob's hard work taking care of Jr and patrick being a jerk not helping or caring, the ending was really hilarious, when Patrick said ''Lets Have another''.

Grade: 7.8/10 (C+)

Rock-a-bye Bivalve: A good episode, but loses its character at times like the short term Sponge and Pat argument. I really dislike the rumor though, which kinda loosens my grade. Gets a C- for me.

It's okay, but I think it needed more jokes.
Gary fighting PF was cool and all, but I missed the humor in this one.
I also think they could have ended it with SpongeBob saying PF wasn't a good pet after all.
He kept being mean to Gary even untill the end where PF tries to eat him.

Final Grade C+

A Pal For Gary was a mediocre episode. I was surprised it was made in the first place, really. Very forgettable, and there's not much to say of it at all for that reason.

Final Grade: D

A Pal For Gary: It was pretty good, but I thought Spongebob was being really stupid when he didn't recognize gary. I did kinda like Puffy Fluffy, despite being creepy as hell in its monster form. At least Gary got some more spotlight though.

Overall Grade: B

This was a decent episode, it had some funny parts, I liked the way Spongebob said enchalatas, but other than that this episode doesn't really stand out and Spongebob was REALLY out of character in this one.

Final Grade: 7.1/10 C-

A Pal For Gary

This episode is extremely underrated. I love it, it was full of action and humor. The plot was good and could be passed as a season 2-3 plot. Puffy Fluffy was a good character, Spongebob was out of character and I can see how that would put people off the episode. But overall it was a fun episode that isn't a classic Spongebob episode but is a standout episode of the post classic seasons.

Off-topic: Sorry I couldn't post an episode yesterday, I was busy.

Anyway, A Pal For Gary was alright.

A decent episode, some boring/unfunny moments, but it was watchable. 7.5/10

I'm glad the Gary and Mary relation didn't happen. It was a good episode anyways. 7.4/10

It was alright, i didnt like Spongebob's new pet, it was worse then the worm in ''Pet Or Pests'', It was pretty funny how Spongebob thought fluffy wasnt evil, yeah there isnt much to say about this episode

"Something Smells"

This is a great episode, filled with some of the best moments in Spongebob history, Patrick's story of the ugly barnacle was classic and i'd recommend this episode to anybody who hasn't seen Spongebob. 10/10 A+

Pretty good episode. My favorite part was When Patrick said Spongebob needed to get this off his chest and that Octopus thing appeared. Oh and Patrick's Ugly Barnacle Story was pure gold. Spongebob's Smell didn't bug me and was actually funny at some parts like when he knocked the Band over. I hope they show the deleted line Squidward has at the end someday where he says," Ugly and Smelly, two for one."

I think the first appearance of the movie theatre was in the episode "F.U.N." but this was the first episode where they showed the whole theatre.

Something Smells:

I loved it, pretty classic episode of ''Season 2'', I wonder how Patrick would react at Spongebob's stinky breath if he had a nose in this one, My favorite parts was how people reacted at Spongebob's breath outside, Patrick's hilarious ''Ugly Barnacle'' story, and how a guy reacted at the movies, his ''DEAUGH'' face.

Something Smells

Something Smells is a great episode with some really good humor. The plot was simple but had so many good jokes. Although Squidward only appeared for a few seconds his appearances were hilarious, I also loved Patrick's Ugly Barnacle story and the expressions he made while telling the story were priceless. So yeah a great episode that is sometimes over looked.

Score: B+, 4/5, 8.5/10, 89%, Amazing

Something Smells - A true classic, full of great jokes and something I love from old SpongeBob, the faces themselves are jokes. Patrick's face while telling the Ugly Barnacle story, the man at the movie theater's "DEAUGH" face, and everyone's different reactions to SpongeBob's breath. All of it was wonderful.

It was a pretty good episode. The part where Patrick was telling Spongebob the story of the Ugly Barnacle was funny.

Something Smells:

This episode is in my top 25 of all time, everything about it just WORKED. The Ugly Barnacle story may quite possibly be my favourite SpongeBob joke of all time. Also:

"I'm ugly and I'm proud! I'm ugly and I'm proud! I'm ugly and I'm proud!"
"Is that what he calls it?"

My only downsides to this episode are that the people running away from SpongeBob got a little tiresome after a while, some of the faces SpongeBob made were a little creepy, and the "I just don't get it!" mistake was a kind of stupid one to make. But hey, if it cracks my Top 25, it's a damn good episode. 9/10.
