The unknowningly aired Spongebob short which didn't come from Nickelodeon:

I wonder if they're going to do one about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

I doubt they would. While they do still somewhat delve into adult humor, their target audience is children, whom aren't interested in that.

Sounds familiar, don't think that I ever saw it though.

I'm just wondering. Does anyone think "Endless Summer" comes off as preachy at all?

A little. It seemed too different from that of an actual SB episode because it was sorta meant to be a little preachy.

Seen it a long while ago, it's pretty cool, but I've always felt a little strange of how SpongeBob was naive enough as to WANT pollution, and maybe they could have been a little more clear with the message they wanted to put across :s

I thought it was pretty funny, but yeah, it was a little preachy.
