We've hit 500 members!SBC News
What's New?
Currently.... SBC has hit over 500 members! This is great news for us, and hopefully we'll be getting to 600 members soon. Also, a brand new contest is going on. The first 5 users to find a golden ticket hidden somewhere on the forum, will get early access to v7! Congratulations to SOF who was the first person to find the ticket. Remember - use your heads! There are only 3 spots left. See the "Lost Temple" announcement on the homepage for more. Speaking of contests, don't forget to participate in our other contest to put a funny, original caption on an image. The winner will receive 1000 doubloons.
In the future... SBC will be moving to vBulletin on August 26th, 2011. This will also be the launch of v7. We had a good time on forumotion, but it is time for us to move. Stay tuned for more!Richest Users

Anonymous (hacking group)
So, these guys have been the heads of several hacking attacks. One of their people was the person who hacked the Playstation Network. They've also done other things, and have now released their next target:
Facebook.
On November 5 (peculiar date, was the date in 1605 when Guy Fawke tried to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James I) they plan to take down the social network.
Thoughts?

They can take Facebook, but i'm still bitter about PSN. It was JUST when Mortal Kombat came out, and it fucked everything up

I thought the ''handsome'' thing would make it funny, because y'know, it's more of an adjective for men.

Re: Anonymous (hacking group)
Anonymous has a set of ideals. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone who claims to be a part of Anonymous is. They're the defenders of free speech and will only attack if they or their ideals are provoked. The PSN hackers were NOT Anonymous, they were just theives. Don't know much about this Facebook thing though.

I thought the Hotz guy was a part of Anonymous, which was why they threatened to do something to Sony when they tried to arrest him.

Re: Anonymous (hacking group)
Anonymous did attack various Sony websites as a form of protest for the GeoHotz incident, but they were not behind the PSN outage. The fact that the PSN was hacked less than a month after Operation Sony and what seemed to be Anon's calling card was left behind at the scene of the crime (a file reading, "We Are Legion") would make the group an obvious suspect, but there was no real reason for them to have participted. The true culprits were petty thieves and nothing more.tvguy347 wrote:DII117 wrote:Anonymous has a set of ideals. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone who claims to be a part of Anonymous is. Re: Anonymous (hacking group)
DEAR FUCKING GOD.
Anonymous isn't a hacking group or organization. Anonymous is what happens when people get together on the internet to take something down that's usually bad (the Church of Scientology, for example.) And as DLL17 said, they're also defenders of freedom and free speech and such.
Either way, i'm all for the downfall of Facebook. I really just use it to stay in touch. Hell, I might join in on the fun.

Well, according to the internet, we're the largest SB forum on the web. If you Google "spongebob forum" there isn't a single other website more active than us.
But no, I didn't find it funny.

You took that the wrong way. I didn't mean that we were petty in terms of SB site. Sure, we're the largest SB site, but we're still a small-name site. Anonymous would NEVER come after us. Because apparently Facebook gives away information. That's why.
And according to a news article, "Operation Facebook" isn't happening. They just announced it was just to spread the word and rally up people. o.o
