What's New?
Currently.... SBC has hit over 500 members! This is great news for us, and hopefully we'll be getting to 600 members soon. Also, a brand new contest is going on. The first 5 users to find a golden ticket hidden somewhere on the forum, will get early access to v7! Congratulations to SOF who was the first person to find the ticket. Remember - use your heads! There are only 3 spots left. See the "Lost Temple" announcement on the homepage for more. Speaking of contests, don't forget to participate in our other contest to put a funny, original caption on an image. The winner will receive 1000 doubloons.
In the future... SBC will be moving to vBulletin on August 26th, 2011. This will also be the launch of v7. We had a good time on forumotion, but it is time for us to move. Stay tuned for more!Richest Users

Have you ever watched a Muppet film?
Yep. I knew I would do this sooner or later. Talk about experiences you've had watching the three originals and the... sub-par... 90s flicks. Don't get me wrong, I love everything about the post-Henson era. But they don't really match up to the magic of orignal the films. Muppet Christmas Carol was good, but it was missing something. I love Muppet Treasure Island, but the characters were casted oddly. And Muppets From Space... well... Gonzo deserved a movie with at least one musical number. You can't have a Muppet movie without one. No, I'm talkin' classics. The originals; The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, and The Muppets Take Manhattan. Those are my favorites. There's just somethin' about a frog riding a bicycle that cements your eyes to the screen. Boy, I remember my first time watching The Muppet Movie... heck, it was a few months ago when I finally got my paws on the DVD for Christmas! Never before has something made me smile so hard my face ached. Definitely my all time top.
Enough about me, though. Has anyone seen one besides me? Does anyone have a favorite? Feel free to ask me any sorts of trivia on all six.

I also saw A Very Merry Muppet Christmas. (Not sure if that's what it's called). I really enjoyed seeing it years ago, and I've been trying to see it ever since, but I haven't had any luck.

Wasn't there a Wizard of Oz movie based on the Muppets? I enjoyed that one.

Oh yes, there was. The Muppets Wizard of Oz. It sadly was poorly recepted, what with weird character casting and Ashanti's acting being stiffer than a board.

I liked the Wizard one. It was the film with the African American actress playing Dorothy, right?

Isn't that the official way to say 'black people.' Like white people are Caucasian?

Re: Have you ever watched a Muppet film?
A lot of people use it, but it's still racist. Not every black actor/actress is from Africa, or American, for that matter.tvguy347 wrote:ExKizuna wrote:Not ever black actor/actress is from Africatvguy347 wrote:I liked the Wizard one. Oh, I guess. What're we supposed to refer to them by then? xD

Re: Have you ever watched a Muppet film?
As much as I love the direction this thread's going in, I must add that I also watched the movie "Follow That Bird", which technically qualifies as a Muppet film.

I've always been taught that African American is the official term for Black people (I'm black myself), Its because our ancestors originated from Africa.tvguy347 wrote:ExKizuna wrote:A lot of people use it, but it's still racist. I enjoyed it too, but it was missing something. It was missing a few parts in the Muppet movie formula. Musical numbers? Check. Miss Piggy hamming it up? Check. Fozzie's jokes sucking? Check. Breaking the fourth wall? Check. Cameos? Check. A sense that this took quite a while to make? ...Maybe. Memorable for generations to come? Not really. It kind of felt like Disney had a lot of faith in this project, but decided to stop being interested a few minutes later.
