What's New?
Currently.... SBC has hit over 500 members! This is great news for us, and hopefully we'll be getting to 600 members soon. Also, a brand new contest is going on. The first 5 users to find a golden ticket hidden somewhere on the forum, will get early access to v7! Congratulations to SOF who was the first person to find the ticket. Remember - use your heads! There are only 3 spots left. See the "Lost Temple" announcement on the homepage for more. Speaking of contests, don't forget to participate in our other contest to put a funny, original caption on an image. The winner will receive 1000 doubloons.
In the future... SBC will be moving to vBulletin on August 26th, 2011. This will also be the launch of v7. We had a good time on forumotion, but it is time for us to move. Stay tuned for more!Richest Users

Do you consider marching band a sport?
Most people I've talked to don't, but I personally think it is. We have practices 3 times a week, we work our tail ends off, and we have to be in shape to do it. We do a lot more than it seems. It takes a tremendous amount of energy to make it through a show. We also compete other schools for grand champion.
So, yes, I think marching band is a sport.

I think so.
But I voted the 3rd option because I love Lady Gaga.

Depends. I've been part of two different Marching Bands since I went to two different High Schools. The first one, I'd absolutely consider it a sport. We ran 1-4 laps each day before practice, practiced 8 hours every Saturday with few breaks, and an extra hour each day after school. Just as much hard work as the other sports. But at my current school, I don't consider it one. We barely did anything at all, didn't go to any competitions, and no one cared. Pretty disappointing really. They were all only there for gym credit.

I would definitely consider marching band a sport, but then again thats me being a band geek, thus my bias showing

It really depends, for some schools i would say it would be a sport while others dont really specialize in band (etc.).
