We've hit 500 members!SBC News
What's New?
Currently.... SBC has hit over 500 members! This is great news for us, and hopefully we'll be getting to 600 members soon. Also, a brand new contest is going on. The first 5 users to find a golden ticket hidden somewhere on the forum, will get early access to v7! Congratulations to SOF who was the first person to find the ticket. Remember - use your heads! There are only 3 spots left. See the "Lost Temple" announcement on the homepage for more. Speaking of contests, don't forget to participate in our other contest to put a funny, original caption on an image. The winner will receive 1000 doubloons.
In the future... SBC will be moving to vBulletin on August 26th, 2011. This will also be the launch of v7. We had a good time on forumotion, but it is time for us to move. Stay tuned for more!Richest Users

Gotta love those ads
I am going to guess that SBC is using Google or something to host the banner ads that come up. Well...
https://2img.net/r/ihimizer/img84/1504/inappropriatead.png
Now you tell me if that's questionable or not.

Re: Gotta love those ads
I don't understand why you get image ads. I've never gotten one. Only text.

Um...wow. O.O Yeah, I'll be telling Forumotion about this...that type of thing shouldn't be showing up on a Spongebob site.
I used to get picture ads, but now it's only text.

Re: Gotta love those ads
Lol, why would you tell Forumotion about it? The ads seem to be about the content of the forum, so we're to blame for the risque things we discuss. Plus, we've talked about much worse things than vibrators.tvguy347 wrote:SpongeSebastian wrote:I am going to guess that SBC is using Google or something to host the banner ads that come up. Well...

One of the reasons why I mostly go to SBM... I visit a SpongeBob forum to discuss SpongeBob and general off-topic subjects, not adult stuff. If I wanted to discuss adult stuff I'd subscribe to an adult website. :/ExKizuna wrote:We talk about things much worse then vibrators EVERY SINGLE DAY.

In the SpongeBob forum, we discuss SpongeBob in a G/PG rated setting. The rest of the forum, (ALMOST) any discussion can occur. This is a site for teens and young adults, not kids. We have a minimum age of 10 for our users.PhilipB wrote:One of the reasons why I mostly go to SBM... I visit a SpongeBob forum to discuss SpongeBob and general off-topic subjects, not adult stuff. 10? Then you need to adhere to COPPA guidelines for any user who is under 13. And besides, 10 is no age to start reading adult conversations on a SpongeBob website. 0_o Unless you have a COPPA user group to filter out those forums/topics, which you should have.that70sguy92 wrote:In the SpongeBob forum, we discuss SpongeBob in a G/PG rated setting. Sorry, that's just my two cents. I'll just keep out of those conversations. But yeah, I'd run this forum a little differently if I were you.

All of our users are mature enough to discuss whatever they see fit. If something gets too risque, it's deleted.PhilipB wrote:10? If you don't like how that goes, stay at the SpongeBob section. No adult language is allowed there.

But you just said your age limit is 10. You're letting kids 10 and over into this sorta thing, whether 10 year olds join up or not, it's against COPPA rules, which could lend YOU and the other staff a hefty fine in the future.tvguy347 wrote:PhilipB wrote:10? I'm sorry if you find me annoying, I am only giving you advice that you might need in the future. Asskisser? Who's ass am I kissing? Forumotion? Because I certainly don't like them. I guess from now on I'll just make fun of everyone here instead of giving out constructive criticism and tips that will help the staff of this site run it better. Because I've seen things done in my last five years on message boards that have had an impact on people and their forums. Forumotion isn't responsible, it is only hosting the content you provide. It is not responsible for the content that is produced here. After all, you did read the Terms & Conditions, right? No, I didn't think so.ExKizuna wrote:You're annoying. And you're a prude. Dragiiin, I deleted your post.
There is a huge difference between unintentional ads and just posting images of naked girls

You know what you are right Phil. I am probably gonna get feedback for doing this but I am going to suspend Dragiiin. Nothing personal Drag, you are my friend, but someone needs to enforce these new rules and he is gonna keep getting away with this unless someone enforces them. The length of his suspension is up in the air, but I am ready for whatever feedback comes my way

As an admin, I'm backing you up, Claps. I can assure you, nothing will happen to you for suspending him. But let's take this whole situation to the Staff Lounge.

Yeah publicly announcing Dragiiin's suspension like this was a bit immature of me. Sorry Dragiiin for making your suspension publicly known like this.

Well, these ads are what keep Forumotion free, so we shouldn't complain.SpongeSebastian wrote:It'd be cool if you guys actually made money off of them.that70sguy92 wrote:Me too, but only the founder can change them, and... well, who knows where terminoob is.Doogle. wrote:These adverts have been annoying me.

I guess. SBC is supposed to be a non-profitable site.

I have no problem with adverts, but just not when they're like they are.
If they were just text I wouldn't mind.
