What's New? Currently.... SBC has hit over 500 members! This is great news for us, and hopefully we'll be getting to 600 members soon. Also, a brand new contest is going on. The first 5 users to find a golden ticket hidden somewhere on the forum, will get early access to v7! Congratulations to SOF who was the first person to find the ticket. Remember - use your heads! There are only 3 spots left. See the "Lost Temple" announcement on the homepage for more. Speaking of contests, don't forget to participate in our other contest to put a funny, original caption on an image. The winner will receive 1000 doubloons. In the future... SBC will be moving to vBulletin on August 26th, 2011. This will also be the launch of v7. We had a good time on forumotion, but it is time for us to move. Stay tuned for more!

So you're thinking...ZOMG YOU'RE OVERAGE TO VOTE FOR THE KCA's, IN WHICH YOU'RE GOING TO DO? LOLCOASTER; Maybe.

So, this year. Spongebob is nominated again, along with Phineas and Ferb, Penguins of Madagascar, and Scooby-Doo Mysterys Incorporated. And as usual, the other categories has those Disney Channel "sellouts."

(For people who care)Voting starts: March 1rst. Award Show starts: April 2nd.

What not The Simpsons? Gasp! They have nominated The Simpsons for as long as I can remember lol. I will watch but I'm not voting because its kinda obvious what the kids are going to vote for in every category most of the time.

The KCA have sorta become a joke for me, but I watch them anyway. Silly Face! Pretty cool to see Scooby-Doo get nominated, considering it's a Cartoon Network show. I also love the other 3 options, so I'll be happy no matter who wins in that category. Don't care too much about the other awards though.

It's not as weird as you think if SpongeBob doesn't win favorite cartoon. Once upon a time, Rugrats use to have a lock on the award all the time and I thought it would never not win the award either Silly Face!

I give the whole thing a 2. Two points for having Jack Black, Jason Segel, Jim Carrey, Jason Segel, Russel Brand (and Rico Rodriguez), AND a Muppet reference... did I mention Jason Segel, leading man and star of the next Muppet movie? Knocked of 8 points for Harry Potter losing twice, all the musical performances (minus Jack Black's ''I Gotta Feeling''), the Kardashians, the biased nominations (Oh of COURSE iCarly would win Favorite TV Show), the winners of Favorite Movie and Favorite Book Series, Miley walking away with an award, the total lack of SpongeBob, etc. etc. Jack Black is a great host, but the presenters were barely even trying.

Kids Choice Awards Empty Re: Kids Choice Awards

Post by Clappy 4/3/2011, 11:30 am

Deli's 2 is a bit generous, I give the whole thing a 1.5

What I did like was the following
-The banter between Jason Segel and Jane Lynch
-Jim Carrey
-Justin Timberlake's speech
-Johnny Depp winning Best Actor was the only category that legit surprised me

Now for the negatives. Just about everything else.
-The Black Eyed Peas were no better than their Super Bowl appearance.
-Will Smith's kids need to get off my television screen. Jaden is okay in small doses but Willow was absolutely horrible.
-Most of the nominees were incredibly lulz worthy and were obvious who was going to win.
-The banter was dull and seemed forced (outside of Jason/Jane)
-Big Time Rush......I don't mind your show and you guys are impressive as singers. Do I like you? No. However, if Nick is going to promote their own show by having them perform, at least make them do a couple songs. Seriously, the BEPs and Willow got to do two. It's only fair and makes common sense.

Now time for the two biggest pet peeves that annoyed the hell out of me.

-This has become a common referring theme every year when I review the KCAs, but its the time limit. Expand the damn show for two hours, maybe even three. I know its going to be painful to do this, but its fucking lazy to announce most of the winners of other categories during the commercial break. There are some categories that don't need presenters (books, video games, hell even sports since they don't even try to nominate relevant athletes anymore (except Lindsey Vonn, good job keeping up with the Winter Olympics Nick), etc.). Anyway, they should expand another half hour at least to fit in more winners announced live on tv or at least cut some of the categories that are unnecessary (Favorite Butt Kicker? Really?)

-Number two. Jack Black.....I hate what you have become. Once upon a time, you were a good, not great, comedian. You had a few good movies that made you one of the future comedy stars in Hollywood.....of course all of this was before 2006. Then Nacho Libre came out. One of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. Jack Black started to ham it up big time and it became obvious what he was getting ready to do. He was selling his soul to the PG crowd. You know....the crowd that thinks overacting and farts are hillarious?

Every role since then, he has destroyed credibility towards it. The main problem that I have with Black is that he plays the same character in every movie that he stars in. This wouldn’t be so bad if that character were actually somewhat likeable. Instead he appears as a highly annoying, over dramatic and seemingly man child time after time. It's kind of sad that the only good movie he has been in in the last five years is Kung Fu Panda, but that is more based off the well written script and beautiful animation more than anything else.

Now onto the KCAs. Jack Black took his man child persona and took it into overdrive. I understand why the kids would like that, but it makes him out to be a massive buffoon for those who know that he can be a decent actor when he doesn't try so hard to overact. From the moment he decided to dance to I Gotta Feeling, I knew we were in for a long night of Jack Black hamming it up. I was right. Dancing to the Black Eyed Peas - The Time in such cringe worthy fashion, having three separate conversations with Po (We get it, you do the voice for him, now stop killing the gag), doing his different pitch voice routine in uncalled for situations, I could go on and on about how big a pain in the ass Jack Black was host. I seriously hope this is the last time I ever have to see Jack Black host the Kids Choice Awards, but if Kung Fu Panda 3 comes out during the summer of 20__, I gotta feeling that more Jack Black hosting is to come -_-

How did Dispicable Me win "Favorite Animated Movie"? Don't get me wrong, I like that movie, but I just don't get how it won, going up against Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon.
I guess it's not necessarily a bad thing. It wasn't as much as a rip-off when the Chipmunks beat Transformers and Wolverine Origins last year.

Post by Mr. Dr. Professor Patrick 4/3/2011, 6:02 pm

Seriously. 1/10. In regards to the last 11 years of KCAs I've been watching, this was probably one of the worst KCAs I'd ever seen. Not only was the music selection ear-splitting, Jack Black had took his childish persona to an irritable level. The only thing that actually convinced me to give this show a 1 instead of a 0 was the fact that both "Big Time Rush" and Willow Smith had actually sung. It was very obvious right from the beginning of the KCAs that the "Black Eyed Peas" were lip syncing, and ruined the whole show for me. I had actually recalled some of the better KCAs, singing along to "We got slimed!" at the end credits. The 2011 KCA was a huge letdown, and should remind Nickelodeon how children are not finding their network funny anymore.

^ This. The show is more decent than other shows on Nick. It doesn't have an overused laugh track and is just a light show to watch every now and then. Their music on the other hand...

I haven't seen the KCAs yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll have 20 more chances to watch it by Saturday.

I just don't find it funny at all, laugh track or no laugh track. I think the characters and actions are over-exaggerated. It's like they went through Flanderization before the show even started.

As for the music, I find it to be pretty meh.

Jack Black: Gotta feelin' that tonight's gonna be a good night.

*is shown singing in daylight*

I'm just going to rant the winners:

Favorite TV Show: iCarly

Won 3 years in a row right now, like Spongebob. They're queen and king of the timeslot anyway.

Favorite Reality Show - American Idol:

OF COURSE this won. I've made a good guess, didn't I?

Favorite Cartoon - SpongeBob SquarePants:

YES! But...why do monkeys from a website-we-really-don't-care-about presented this?

Favorite Television Actor - Dylan Sprouse:

He was the only choice I had. Really.

Favorite Television Actress - Selena Gomez:

Why Selena again? She's not that funny. Once again, she had a jaw dropping speech.

Favorite TV Sidekick - Jennette McCurdy:

This one seemed fair.

Favorite Film - The Karate Kid:

A Jackie Chan movie over an overhyped movie based off a popular book? Shame.

Favorite Movie Actor - Johnny Depp:

I wanted him to win. Nuff said.

Favorite Movie Actress - Miley Cyrus:

OF COURSE she won. Probably because kids out there are asking WHO ARE EMMA WATSON AND THOSE OTHER CHICKS?

Favorite Animated Movie - Despicable Me:

Despicable Me over Toy Story 3? DM is a good movie, but still...

Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie - Eddie Murphy:

Eddie Murphy winning Favorite Voice in 3 out of 4 of the Shrek movies was no brainer.

Favorite Buttkicker - Jackie Chan:

Good call; Category not needed.

Favorite Music Group - The Black Eyed Peas:

They're ok...at least an OUTDATED band didn't win.

Favorite Female Singer - Katy Perry:

This was no brainer either.

Favorite Male Singer - Justin Bieber:

DOES NOT COMPUTE.

Favorite Song - Baby:

OMFG, more lulz.

Favorite Male Athlete - Shaquille O'Neal:

Am I the only one who thinks this category along its counterpart is getting old?

Favorite Female Athlete - Lindsey Vonn:

The muscular dude who announced the winner was creepy though.

Big Help Award - Justin Timberlake:

I have nothing to say. R.I.P, Wannable Award

Favorite Book - Diary of A Wimpy Kid:

At least the movie didn't win.

Favorite Video Game - Just Dance 2:

Come on guys, Pokemon is right over there.

Arm Fart Hall of Fame - Josh Duhamel:

Yeah, I was expecting him to win. Kaley Cuoco being part of this was just...ugh.

She's not funny, but she's a great TV actress. I think she deserved that award - at least, compared to the other nominations.

She has a horrible voice, which is why she's probably going to be kicked out of Disney Channel once Wizards is over to make room for another girl to be exploited as an actress-singer.
