What's New?
Currently.... SBC has hit over 500 members! This is great news for us, and hopefully we'll be getting to 600 members soon. Also, a brand new contest is going on. The first 5 users to find a golden ticket hidden somewhere on the forum, will get early access to v7! Congratulations to SOF who was the first person to find the ticket. Remember - use your heads! There are only 3 spots left. See the "Lost Temple" announcement on the homepage for more. Speaking of contests, don't forget to participate in our other contest to put a funny, original caption on an image. The winner will receive 1000 doubloons.
In the future... SBC will be moving to vBulletin on August 26th, 2011. This will also be the launch of v7. We had a good time on forumotion, but it is time for us to move. Stay tuned for more!Richest Users

Most Controversial Episode
SpongeBob has actually had a lot of controversial episodes over the years.
I think the most controversial is The Frycook Games. I don't know if I even need to explain why.
What do you think is the most controversial episode of SpongeBob? Discuss.

Re: Most Controversial Episode
I don't think it's really controversial, but i heard somewhere Shanghaied was banned in a country.
Maybe that is why Gary Takes A Bath (It's partner episodes) didn't air Until 2003 when Shanghaied aired in 2001.

Re: Most Controversial Episode
Ok, i found out why it was banned. From Tvtropes :
◦According to the Other Wiki, Shanghaied was banned in Australia and Britain for its dark tone and disturbing scenes. The episode it was paired with {"Gary Takes A Bath") was also banned for the popular "subliminal messages" part (its punchline being a picture of a Creepy Child). Thus the whole airing hardly ever gets shown except twice and when it did, Moral Guardians had a rally. This was a season 2 episode so no real excuse.
AND Gary Takes a Bath was banned too!

Wow. So that's controversial in those countries, then. If those were banned, I expect Squidward in Clarinetland to be banned.jjsthekid wrote:Ok, i found out why it was banned. From Tvtropes :

Rock-A-Bye-Bivale due to homophobia and Just One Bite due to that BS that the gas scene had to do with 9/11.

It's the one where Spongebob's inferred consequence of completing an essay is accompanied or followed by a live-action race car crash and also includes his warm-up exercisesthat70sguy92 wrote:That's what I thought. I'd love to see some "Spongebob: Raw And Uncut" DVD someday that includes:
The JOB deleted scene
The pic of Spongebob at the Christmas party that is rumored to have aired during the premiere of Secret Box
Spongebob saying "no more getting nailed" followed by Patrick hitting a nail into his head from Life Of Crime
The scene of Spongebob and Patrick holding hands at the end of The Fry Cook Games
View full list here
Oh yeah, I also read somewhere that Karate Choppers was banned a while back due to sexual innuendo.

I wish they'd show the embarassing Christmas Party snapshot of Spongebob. I bet the photo has to do with something controversal, since we couldn't see it.
Also, where was Karate Choppers banned?

Re: Most Controversial Episode
I heard somewhere that two scenes in Procrastination were banned: the live action one where he crashes the car and one where Patrick's rubbing lotion on Sandy. I don't know if the latter is really true though.
I think the most controversial episode is Rock a Bye Bivalve or however you spell it.

Both are true; however they weren't banned, they were cut for time and/or content.thesuitelife44 wrote:I heard somewhere that two scenes in Procrastination were banned: the live action one where he crashes the car and one where Patrick's rubbing lotion on Sandy. That was the only scene from the episode that was banned. Most people say it was because of the episode airing after 9/11.
