Yep, Nick has ordered another batch of 26 episodes that are set to begin airing in 2012! Looks like I'll be watching SpongeBob throughout college...

Let's hope that this next season is good.

SpongeBob's schedule is so... erratic. It just doesn't make sense. And seriously, wasn't it renewed for a ninth season along with its eighth? I thought I saw that on Toonzone.

No, it was just the eighth season. Just some of us were confused if they were still using the "20 episodes per season" system, which is why we thought season 9 had already been ordered..

I was so happy when I saw the Spongebob Twitter announcement. 200 episodes, I'm so happy and can't wait to see what it's about

yeah, I like how Nick has sort of gone back to airing a new episode per week, as opposed to randomly throwing premiere weeks every other month (which I started to hate). Still, I wish they wouldn't air those Saturday episodes so early in the morning. I like to sleep in Friday nights.

Most of the newer Season DVD's tend to mix around the order of episodes on the discs. Or it might because of what region your in.

Great news! And I bet 26 episodes later, they'll be renewing this show yet AGAIN!

While we probably won't be seeing Season 9 for another year or two, I'm still looking forward to it. I wonder what kind of episodes that season will have?

I don't understand why people are so shocked by SB getting renewed. Yeah, most of the new episodes suck. But I really doubt kids 10 and under will notice, and that age group is the prime age group that watches SB. 11 and up may be more skeptical, but we all still watch it. I don't think Nick will cancel SB just because the episodes suck. If the viewership went down, MAYBE they would consider it. But if SB continues to do well, Spongebob won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Wow, a 9th season. I'm starting to think that Spongebob will never end. Pretty sure they'd want to make it to at least season 10 before halting production though. So great news! ^_^

SpongeBob and Mickey are not the same thing, first of all. Mickey Mouse is practically a franchise on his own, while SpongeBob unfortunately is not. The Hanna Barbera shows you mentioned were continued through SPIN-OFFS and MOVIES, which are not the same thing at all. You're just... ugh.
