We've hit 500 members!SBC News
What's New?
Currently.... SBC has hit over 500 members! This is great news for us, and hopefully we'll be getting to 600 members soon. Also, a brand new contest is going on. The first 5 users to find a golden ticket hidden somewhere on the forum, will get early access to v7! Congratulations to SOF who was the first person to find the ticket. Remember - use your heads! There are only 3 spots left. See the "Lost Temple" announcement on the homepage for more. Speaking of contests, don't forget to participate in our other contest to put a funny, original caption on an image. The winner will receive 1000 doubloons.
In the future... SBC will be moving to vBulletin on August 26th, 2011. This will also be the launch of v7. We had a good time on forumotion, but it is time for us to move. Stay tuned for more!Richest Users

Looks like to me that SBC has something against SBM still. Someone care to explain why someone had the nerve to look down on SBM?

What pisses me off is the date Google provides: December 23, 2010. I thought SBM and SBC had gotten a truce, but apparently some people are still haters.

Of course there's still going to be haters. Not everyone's in favor of this truce. I am, however, but thats not the point, because I wouldn't do something like this just to start petty drama.Mr. Dr. Professor Patrick wrote:What pisses me off is the date Google provides: December 23, 2010. Re: Well Well Well...
The Spongebob Community is a popular, online forum which opened it's doors to the public world of Spongebob fans in August of 2009. The Spongebob Group of Fans first originated in 2005 on the popular website called TV.com. Due to the inactivity of the most popular Spongebob forum on the web, Spongebuddy Mania, The Spongebob Community has been dubbed the most active Spongebob forum on the internet.
[edit]Beginnings
In February of 2009, many users on TV.com were beginning to get angry at the way TV.com mods treated them. In the summer of 2009, there was an enormous forum attack on the Spongebob boards. The users had previously been tormented by a user named Whaleblubber. Many users were suspended or banned during this attack. The boards were in turmoil, as no one knew who the spammer was. Many were creating blogs, saying how they had "a Benedict Arnold in our midst." The users suspected it was one of them. Whoever did this still remains unknown today. But the users weren't interested in this. One fellow Spongebob fan, terminoob, created a website that would be user run. It would be everything TV.com wasn't. Because users would run it, unfair banishments and suspensions wouldn't occur. However, the site was extremely slow during the first few months. Posts were separated by months. But by late-December, users finally began to come over. This signaled the official death of TV.com according to users, as no other boards were as active as the Spongebob boards were.
By January 2010, the site had a significant improvement in activity. Two users, terminoob and that70sguy92, ran the website in it's early days. Things were very simple; there were only a few forums, which would later grow. terminoob wanted The Spongebob Community to be Spongebob focused, but it changed anyway. The layout changed from a very dull and bland white layout to a very colorful and Spongebob-ish layout. More users from TV.com started to arrive, although several of them were more recent users. One unique thing about the Spongebob Group of Fans and Friends was spin offs. There had been many, many, many spin offs on TV.com and this was continued on SBC. One thing also done was something called "The Spinnys": an award show with spin offs. This was also continued on The Spongebob Community, the first Spinnys on SBC being hosted by the administrator, that70sguy92.
In February 2010, the website was redecorated for Valentine's day, and around this time the site reached 40 members. Following Valentine's day, the users decide to hold a "Get to 6000 Posts!" party, which involves the site getting redecorated again. More users come onto the site, reaching 62 members. One user, Spongebobs1fan, is the first to reach 1000 post on SBC, pepping up some members who were thinking the site would die. Spongebob smilies enter, and the chatbox on the front page.
The SpongeBob Community shouldn't even have a Wikipedia article in the first place.
Re: Well Well Well...
Who made a Wikipedia article? Strange.
Anyways, we can't even be sure that was one of our members. For all we know, it was a guest. It's silly, and there's no need to pay it any attention.

Agreed. MDPP. I have no clue who wrote that, but it's obvious whoever did that is pathetic. To whoever wrote that on the SBC wikipedia page, grow up. I hate it when some people do immature shit like that because it's a sign of ignorance. I promise you MDPP that I will get to the bottom of this because whoever wrote that is pissing me off because I have been really happy that things are working out between both sites and we are becoming friends
On a side note, when and why does SBC have a wikipedia page?

Not that it shouldn't, but it wouldn't pass Wikipedia's guidelines of notability (which is why the admins deleted this article).that70sguy92 wrote:Hmm, why not?Metal Snake wrote:SpongeSebastian wrote:The Spongebob Community is a popular, online forum which opened it's doors to the public world of Spongebob fans in August of 2009. I just wanted to bring this up. I don't care if the culprit is caught or not, but I wanted to let everyone know that this is still happening today. Website rivalry will always continue to exist, even with the truce, but the point is that we should be keeping the rivalry to our own websites. Wikipedia is going too far.
